An all time favourite of mine. Book and movie. I was worried when I heard it was being adapted so didn’t watch it when it was originally released. Real sorry I didn’t. It’s a beautiful film that always seems to lift my mood (which is a weird thing to say?) Great review.
Oh that is an interesting one! Never thought about that. I don’t know how I would feel about that lol. Some authors are too close to the source material; it could be a disaster or a godsend. Stephen King might actually get an adaptation he likes lol.

I think more writers should direct their own film adaptations because it worked out so well here.
